M. Robert Marks

Robert Marks is member of Venturing Crew 306 in Kennedy Township, PA and Sea Scout Ship 1942 in Arlington, VA .  He is also an Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 358 in Coraopolis, PA.

In addition to earning the Eagle Scout Award, he has earned the Venturing Silver Award and the Venturing Ranger Award plus the Gold Award and four (4) Bronze Awards.

Rob has always been conservation minded.  He is also a strong advocate for alternative energy particularly wind and solar.  His work on the William T. Hornaday Award is a natural extension of his love of the outdoors and his passion for protecting the environment.

Completing the Hornaday Award became a goal back in 2004 with the first project being completed in early 2005.  All of the required merit badges were completed except Public Safety - and then time caught up with Rob.  He turned 18.

Undeterred, Rob decided to complete the Hornaday as a Venturer.  The Venturing-level requirements are more difficult and finding time between work and school is hard, but Rob continues to work the projects with the plan of completing them before his 21st birthday.
